Research Ready offers training to non-scientists on how to read and critique peer-reviewed science research, with a special focus on medical science literature.

Our one-day workshops are given in non-technical lay language, with negligible math content.  Our clients come from many walks of life, including government, business, and journalism.  No background in science, medicine, statistics or mathematics is required.

  • Our workshops cover the following topics:
  • The various types of scientific studies and publications
  • Basic research study designs, their strengths and weaknesses
  • What is a “p-value” and “statistical significance”?
  • Simple steps for critically appraising the qualities of a scientific study

At present, our workshops are offered only in English.
